Italia & Ribs Gastronomia @ Sri Hartamas

Italia is represented by seafood risotto, ricotta-stuffed ravioli, house-made gnocchi with bolognese sauce, tagliatelle with saffron sauce, and pizza Margherita, while ribs take the form of both beef and pork. 

The risotto, cooked with white wine, is satisfyingly creamy, while the ribs are pretty tasty too, served with a bourbon whiskey glaze in a portion to be shared for RM75.90. 

A place for a hearty meal with robust flavours, washed down with a Tuscan wine, the northeast Italian Spritz aperitif and Piedmont's Menabrea beer.

With a history that dates back eight decades, Ye Olde Smokehouse has been Fraser's Hill's most atmospheric venue since 1937 for a colonial English-evoking meal of warming soups, roast chicken and sherry trifle, roughly a two-hour drive from KL.

Aida Daniya's setting might be its undeniable attraction, perched on a scenic slope of Fraser's Hill. But its food passes muster too, with hearty fare like fried chicken with chips and cream sauce for lunch, and the obligatory scones, cakes and pies for tea.
