Awesome Mama: Penang White Curry Instant Noodles

For fans of instant noodles, there's nothing like a steaming-hot bowl that brings back nostalgic memories of childhood lunches or campus suppers. One of our favourite flavours, the popular Penang-inspired white curry, is now available from a brand-new name in the instant noodle game, Awesome Mama, available from this week onward exclusively via online orders (check out www.awesomemama.my for the full scoop). We had a sampling of these MSG-free noodles & we're happy to say we loved it!

Within three minutes of cooking, the kitchen was filled with the fragrance of curry, beckoning us to dig in immediately. The noodles were a pleasure, proving firm & springy to the bite, even to the very end. The broth hit the spot too, with a distinct crustacean flavour from dried prawns, enhanced with nuances of rose onions, candlenut, star anise, lemongrass & turmeric, fairly thick & sufficiently spicy but not overpoweringly fiery. Enjoyable on its own, or add an egg or other accompaniments.

Awesome Mama's Penang White Curry instant noodles can be purchased at introductory rates that start from RM22.80 for 12 packets (plus a RM7 shipping fee, within peninsular Malaysia), RM43.32 for 24 packets (plus RM10 for shipping) or RM82.08 for 48 packets (plus RM13 for shipping). Orders can be made on awesomemama.my - thanks to Awesome Mama for this treat.

  2. I'm happy to see you finally....cooking! O_o Ooo...I'd like to check out these noodles (haiz, wish they were sold over the counter and we didn't have to pay for delivery). What a coincidence....I had a not-so-awesome experience with an instant noodle in my blog post today.
